About Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the care, maintenance, and stewardship of all church property belonging to the Livingston, Montfort, and Cobb United Methodist Churches. Acting in accordance with ¶2525–¶2533 of The Book of Discipline of The United Methodist Church, the trustees hold property in trust for the benefit of the denomination and ensure that each congregation’s facilities are used, maintained, and insured in ways that support the church’s mission.

The trustees oversee real estate, buildings, furnishings, and equipment for all three campuses, working collaboratively to ensure safety, accessibility, and responsible use of resources. They approve maintenance and improvement projects, manage legal and insurance matters, and coordinate with the Finance Committee on budgets and funding for property needs.

In all decisions, the trustees act as caretakers of sacred space—maintaining the church’s witness through the physical places where worship, discipleship, and community service occur. Their ministry preserves the integrity of each congregation’s facilities while supporting the shared mission of the Livingston–Montfort–Cobb charge.
